At the first volunteer event held the previous day, around 50 senior citizens received consultations and treatment for their usual discomforts and pains, as well as health counseling, from the medical staff of Busan Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital. The medical team paid special attention to treatments in preparation for the upcoming autumn season, as the difference in temperature between day and night from September onward can cause blood vessels to constrict, leading to stiffness in muscles and ligaments.

Busan Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital plans to conduct a total of five medical volunteer activities from August to December. In October, the hospital will also provide medical volunteer services for about 60 residents at the Sahasarangchae Senior Welfare Center.

The medical volunteer program is being carried out as part of a business agreement signed with Saha-gu in May last year. At that time, Busan Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital and Saha-gu entered into an agreement to support oriental medicine treatment for the health improvement of low-income and vulnerable groups, and the hospital has been visiting local welfare centers every month for volunteer activities. In November last year, the hospital was recognized for these contributions and received a plaque of appreciation from the Saha-gu Office.

Kim Haneul, Director of Busan Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, said, "We hope this medical volunteer program will help address gaps in healthcare and improve the health and quality of life for local seniors," adding, "We will continue to actively participate in various social contribution activities that promote mutual growth with the local community."

Meanwhile, Busan Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, which opened in 2022 and is now celebrating its third anniversary, treats spinal and joint diseases such as herniated discs and arthritis through non-surgical integrated oriental medicine treatments including acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and Chuna therapy. The hospital also operates an international medical team to provide medical services to overseas patients. In addition, Busan Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital practices sharing with the community through various social contribution activities such as supporting oriental medicine treatment for veterans, providing health checkups for vulnerable groups, and offering scholarships to low-income families.
