Jungyeon Lee, who previously played on the LPGA Tour, claimed a victory trophy on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Champions Tour for the first time in eight years.

On August 27, at the final round of the KLPGA Shambhala Golf & Resort SBS Golf Champions Classic Round 4 (total prize money: 70 million won), held at Shambhala Golf & Resort in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 5,966 yards), Lee shot a 1-under-par 71 to win the tournament with a total of 4-under-par 140. Jungyeon Lee debuted on the KLPGA Tour in 1998 and won the SBS Pro Golf Championship in 1999, before advancing to the LPGA Tour in 2002. She returned to Korea and played on the KLPGA Tour until her retirement in 2014. Although she won the Hoban Construction Champions Classic Round 5 in 2017, she stepped away from competition to focus on coaching and university lectures. Since September last year, she has resumed her career on the Champions Tour.

Lee said, "Winning again after such a long time gives me great pride and happiness as a player," adding, "I don't have enough strength or power, so for this tournament, I focused on maintaining my own tempo and minimizing bogeys." She also stated, "I want to continue my tour career in good health and fully showcase my strengths whenever opportunities arise."
