Jeon Hyungsik and Krzysztof Grabowski Discuss Ways to Expand Cooperation
Chungnam and Wielkopolska Mark 20 Years of Sisterhood with Stronger Defense and Civil Defense Ties
Chungnam Province has established a new milestone in its more than 20-year history of international exchanges by strengthening cooperation with Wielkopolska Province in Poland in the fields of defense industry and civil defense.
On August 27, Chungnam Province announced that Jeon Hyungsik, Vice Governor for Political Affairs, met with Krzysztof Grabowski, Deputy Marshal of Wielkopolska Province, in the external reception room of the provincial government office to discuss ways to expand exchange and cooperation.
Since forming a sisterhood relationship in 2002, Chungnam Province and Wielkopolska Province have continued to cooperate in various fields, including agriculture, healthcare, and responses to the coal phase-out crisis.
Wielkopolska Province covers an area of 29,800 square kilometers and has a population of 3.5 million, making it the third most populous and the second largest province in Poland.
During the visit, the delegation shared cases and policies related to civil defense crisis response and discussed the potential for cooperation in the defense industry sector.
Vice Governor Jeon and Deputy Marshal Grabowski agreed to work together to discover future strategic industries, such as the defense industry, and to promote further exchanges.
Vice Governor Jeon stated, "As we mark the 36th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Poland, both countries are achieving results in areas such as nuclear power and the defense industry. I hope this meeting will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation in the defense sector."
Meanwhile, on August 28, the Wielkopolska Province delegation is scheduled to visit defense companies in Nonsan, Konyang University, and the Chungnam Provincial Council to explore further avenues for exchange and cooperation.
