Kim Hyunjung, Chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, visited the SB Sunbo Gupyung Plant on August 22 to conduct on-site management aimed at promoting the "5 Basic Safety Rules for Heatwave Safety" and preventing heat-related illnesses among shipbuilding workers during the extreme heat season.

On this day, Chairman Kim emphasized the importance of the five basic safety rules for heatwave safety-water, shade, rest, cooling equipment, and emergency measures-to ensure the health protection of shipbuilding workers, who are particularly vulnerable to ongoing heatwaves. He also urged the continuous monitoring of workers sensitive to heat-related illnesses and highlighted the importance of perceived temperature, calling for focused management in these areas.


Additionally, through a meeting with on-site supervisors and managers, he shared the Safe Workplace Project to strengthen worker safety, reviewed the implementation status of heat illness prevention guidelines and the current state of workers' health management, and listened to the concerns of on-site workers, expressing appreciation for their hard work.


Kim Hyunjung, Chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, stressed, "In accordance with the recently established employer obligations for preventing heat-related illnesses, please do your utmost to protect workers from heat-related illnesses."
