Gyeongsan City to Hold Byeoljjiyamarket Opening Ceremony and Pre-Event on August 29... Night Market to Officially Open from September 3

Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) will hold the opening ceremony of the Byeoljjiyamarket and a pre-event called 'Summer Festival' at 6:30 p.m. on August 29 at Gyeongsan Public Market to revitalize the traditional market.


The Byeoljjiyamarket, which has been held since 2022, is a representative event of Gyeongsan Public Market. This year, the event will feature a variety of programs, adding a pre-event to offer visitors a wide range of sights, activities, and food experiences.

Before the official opening of the night market, pre-events will be held on August 29 and 30, featuring various performances, water play zones (air pools and water sprayers), and other events to welcome families.


The Byeoljjiyamarket will officially operate for four weeks from September 3 to September 28, running five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday. Each day will offer a different theme, providing new experiences for visitors every day.


In particular, on Thursdays and Fridays, a women's singing contest and the Byeoljji Singing Contest will be held, respectively, with participants from all over the country showcasing their unique talents.


The night market will also feature food stalls, a flea market, and photo booths, offering visitors a variety of food and fun activities. In addition, visitors who spend more than 20,000 won at the night market will be eligible for a return visit refund event.


Cho Hyunil, Mayor of Gyeongsan City, stated, "The Byeoljjiyamarket is a local commercial revitalization project created together by citizens and merchants," adding, "I hope it will become a festival where everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy themselves and create lasting memories."


Tae Wonchan, Director of the Gyeongsan Public Market Merchants Association, said, "Through the successful operation of this Byeoljjiyamarket, we will do our best to revitalize not only Gyeongsan Public Market but also the surrounding commercial areas, serving as an opportunity to boost the local economy."
