Jangheung County in South Jeolla Province announced on August 27 that it has begun inspecting the health safety net for recipients of home medical benefits amid the lingering late-summer heat.

The county has provided cooling supplies such as fans and blanket sets, and both medical benefit managers with nursing licenses and welfare officials have visited households in person. They offered on-site, close-contact welfare services by checking living conditions and assessing health status.
The medical benefit system is a public healthcare security program that provides necessary medical services to neighbors in need. The home medical benefit project helps long-term inpatients adapt to society after discharge.
A county official stated, "This is an important time to protect one's health during the heat," adding, "We hope this brings some comfort and reassurance. We will continue to do our best to operate a meticulous safety net for home medical benefits in the future."
