Two Manta Originals Nominated for the Prestigious Ringo Awards
'Under the Oak Tree' and 'Dealing with Demons'
Selected as Finalists for Top U.S. Comic Honors
Winners to Be Announced on October 18
Global content company Ridi Corporation announced on August 27 that two works exclusively serialized through 'Manta' have been nominated for the US 'Ringo Awards'.
The 'Ringo Awards' is recognized as one of the three major comic awards in the United States, alongside the 'Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards' and the 'Harvey Awards'. Ridi has been selected as a finalist for two consecutive years with its exclusive titles.
This year's nominated works are: ▲ 'Under the Oak Tree' in the Best Webcomic category, and ▲ 'Dealing with Demons' in the Best Humor Webcomic category, for a total of two titles.
'Under the Oak Tree' is based on a web novel of the same name, and the original novel became the first Korean web novel to be listed on The New York Times Best Seller list. The webtoon adaptation also ranked No. 1 in the 'Romance Graphic Novels' category on Amazon in the United States. Last year in Japan, it surpassed 10 billion won in sales just six months after its launch.
'Dealing with Demons', which was also nominated, is the first original fantasy webtoon introduced by Manta. It has received praise from North American readers for its unique world-building, immersive storyline, and distinctive artwork.
A Ridi representative said, "Just being nominated for the prestigious 'Ringo Awards' for two consecutive years is overwhelming and highly meaningful," adding, "We will continue to present content that spans a variety of genres and is loved by readers around the world."
This year's final winners of the 'Ringo Awards' will be announced at Baltimore Comic-Con in the United States on October 18.
