Gifted Instantly to President Trump Upon His Interest
"Thank You for the Tremendous Attention... Sales Suspended to Ensure Quality Control"
The pen manufacturer that President Lee Jae Myung gifted to President Donald Trump during the signing ceremony at the White House for the Korea-U.S. summit in Washington, D.C. has suspended sales due to a surge in orders. At the time, when President Trump expressed interest by saying, "The pen looks great. Are you going to take it with you?" President Lee gestured with both hands and gifted the pen to him on the spot.

The pen manufacturer in question is Jenaill, a domestic handmade fountain pen maker. The company is known for its artisans who hand-carve pens from solid wood, and customers can choose materials such as rosewood or olive wood depending on the product. Jenaill also uses natural ingredients like palm leaf extract wax and beeswax. The retail price of their products ranges from 80,000 to 150,000 won. It is reported that the Presidential Office requested and specially ordered the pens about a month and a half prior to the Korea-U.S. summit.

After this fact became known, Jenaill stated, "There are no plans to sell the pen used by President Lee Jae Myung." The company added, "We are sorry that we cannot give a positive answer to those who have reached out to us," and continued, "We did not expect this much interest, but we are truly grateful."

As demand and orders surged not only for the pen used by President Lee but also for other products, Jenaill ultimately decided to suspend sales. A Jenaill representative announced, "We sincerely apologize to everyone who has contacted us, but due to the sudden increase in orders, we will have to temporarily suspend sales. While we are very happy about the interest, we are concerned that it might affect our production and quality control. We will process the pre-existing orders sequentially and strive to resume sales between the end of August and early September."
