Siheung City to Supply Smart Home Appliances to 24 Senior Centers

24 Senior Centers Selected for the "Smart Environment Creation Project"

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 26 that 24 senior centers within the city have been selected as beneficiaries of the “2025 Senior Center Smart Environment Creation Project,” organized by the Gyeonggi Social Service Center.

This project is a new welfare policy initiated by Gyeonggi Province this year, aiming to transform senior centers into comfortable and convenient leisure spaces.

The city explained that, in cooperation with local administrative welfare centers and the Siheung branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, a total of 95 senior centers applied for the project, and after document screening and on-site inspections, 24 centers were confirmed as beneficiaries.

The selected senior centers will be sequentially equipped with smart home appliances such as air conditioners, induction cooktops, smart TVs, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners.

Lim Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung, stated, “We will continue to provide proactive administration and meticulous support to ensure that leisure and welfare for the elderly are harmoniously achieved.”
