The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 26th that the 'K-Tourism Roadshow', held at Tysons Corner Center in Virginia, USA, on August 23-24 (local time), concluded successfully.
This event, designed to widely promote the appeal of Korean tourism in the Eastern United States, attracted 40,000 visitors.
The event featured a K-pop dance competition and a random play dance event inspired by the film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.' Fourteen K-pop dance teams, selected through preliminary rounds in the United States, took the stage, receiving enthusiastic responses from family visitors and Millennials & Gen Z attendees.
At PenFed Plaza, a promotional booth for the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, scheduled to be held in Gyeongju at the end of October, showcased the charm of Korean culture.
Additionally, media artist Lee Lee-nam's media art piece 'Gwanghwa Landscape' and director Kim Youngki's artificial intelligence (AI) work 'We Are All Monsters Inside,' both exhibited at the venue, drew significant attention from visitors.
Furthermore, the Korea Tourism Organization set up K-beauty experience and K-food tasting booths, allowing visitors to experience Korea firsthand. In particular, visitors showed great interest by tasting bb.q Chicken and Nongshim’s 'Hangang Ramen,' both featured in Korean dramas.
Cho Heejin, head of the Korea Tourism Organization's Americas Regional Center, stated, "This roadshow was organized to showcase a Korea that can be experienced firsthand, beyond what is seen on screen," adding, "We expect that this will generate substantial demand for travel to Korea."
