Under this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to promote and share information related to the relocation and establishment of the Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute, establish communication and cooperation systems with local residents for the relocation and establishment, support the operation of early childhood education programs tailored to the region's characteristics, and strengthen overall organic cooperation in the field of early childhood education.
The Seoul Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute is an official educational institution supporting kindergartens, daycare centers, parents, and teachers in Seoul. It has been responsible for kindergarten teacher training, developing customized curricula for young children, and operating support programs for parents. With the move to Gangseo District, the institute is expected to provide experience-based, specialized early childhood services in a larger and more comfortable environment than before.
Gangseo District plans to further strengthen its comprehensive educational support system by adding an early childhood education hub to its existing infrastructure, which includes the Gangseo Starry Space Science Center, the Lifelong Learning Center, and public libraries. Through this, the district aims to turn the brand value of "Gangseo, a city of educational and cultural experiences and dreams" into tangible results.
In particular, the former Yeomgang Elementary School site, where the Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute will be established, has been temporarily used as a police substation, vaccination center, and alternative school since its closure in 2020. Through this project, the site will be reborn as a new hub for early childhood education.
Gangseo District stated, "This agreement will serve as a turning point that elevates the educational landscape of Gangseo," adding, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure that children can learn and receive care in a better environment."
