The Busan Institute of Science and Technology Promotion (BISTEP, President Kim Youngbu) announced on August 26 that it held the 6th Busan R&D Planning Capacity Building Seminar on August 22 at the institute's main conference hall, under the theme of "Technology Trends and R&D Strategies in the Field of Physical AI."
This seminar featured Professor Lee Seungjun from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Pusan National University, who led the Home Service division to victory at the RoboCup 2025, a world-renowned AI robotics competition, as the keynote speaker.
Professor Lee sequentially introduced the research achievements and development process of robotics, focusing on the implementation of sophisticated object manipulation, autonomous driving, and human-robot interaction technologies based on natural language understanding in various robots, including humanoid robots.
Approximately 50 local industry, academia, and research professionals, as well as R&D planning managers, attended the seminar and showed strong interest in the characteristics of Physical AI technology and the future direction of national R&D planning.
Kim Youngbu, President of BISTEP, stated, "It was a meaningful opportunity to hear about world-class AI robotics achievements firsthand," and added, "We will continue to hold capacity-building seminars to provide practical knowledge and networking opportunities that will lead regional R&D innovation."
BISTEP plans to continuously identify and operate a variety of R&D planning programs to strengthen the capabilities of local researchers and policymakers, including this seminar.
