46 Students from 8 Schools to Compete in 19 Categories at the National Skills Competition
The Daejeon Office of Education announced that a total of 46 students from 8 schools, competing in 19 different categories, will participate in the 60th National Skills Competition held in Gwangju Metropolitan City.
On August 26, Superintendent Seol Dongho of the Daejeon Office of Education received a briefing on the preparations for the 60th National Skills Competition at Daejeon Shinil Girls’ High School and visited the skills training site to encourage the participating students and their coaches.
This year’s National Skills Competition will be held for seven days from September 20 to 26 at six venues in Gwangju Metropolitan City (Kimdaejung Convention Center, Gwangju Human Resources Development Institute, Gwangju Technical High School, Gwangju Electronics Technical High School, Jeonnam Technical High School, and Gwangju Natural Science High School). A total of 1,725 participants representing cities and provinces nationwide are expected to compete in 51 categories.
The list of participating vocational high schools from the Daejeon region is as follows: Chungnam Mechanical Technical High School (10 students in 4 categories including Mechanical Design/CAD), Donga Meister High School (8 students in 3 categories including Industrial Electronic Devices), Gyeryong Digitech High School (7 students in 3 categories including Cloud Computing), Daejeon Daeseong Girls’ High School (5 students in 3 categories including Animation), Daejeon Urban Science High School (4 students in 2 categories including Industrial Drone Control), Daejeon Life Science High School (2 students in 2 categories including Skin Care), Yuseong Life Science High School (4 students in Agricultural Machinery Maintenance), and Daejeon Shinil Girls’ High School (6 students in 2 categories including Graphic Design). In total, 46 students from 8 schools and 19 categories will participate.
Kim Youngjin, Director of the Science and Vocational Information Division at the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "I hope that all officials and participating students will pay close attention to their health and safety during the remaining training period and make thorough preparations for the competition. I look forward to seeing all participants fully demonstrate their abilities at the event."
