World Congress of Accountants 2026 in Seoul
Focus on Accounting, Auditing, Sustainability, and AI-Driven Innovation

The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on August 26 that it will co-host the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) in Seoul for four days from November 17 to 20 next year.

The World Congress of Accountants is a flagship event for accountants worldwide, aimed at strengthening the global accounting community through exchanges among representatives of accounting organizations from various countries. The upcoming congress in Seoul will be the first event held since the switch to a biennial (every two years) schedule. On-site attendance will be limited to key domestic and international figures who are invited in advance. Accountants, as well as members of the public interested in accounting, finance, and related fields, will be able to participate online.

On-site participants will have access to plenary sessions, panel discussions, lectures by experts in various fields, and networking programs. Attendees will include key figures such as executives and committee members from IFAC member organizations, heads of accounting firms, representatives from standard-setting bodies, regulatory agencies, and government, as well as stakeholders from multilateral and development organizations, corporations, and investors. The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants and IFAC plan to work closely together to ensure that the Seoul congress is operated at a high standard and facilitates meaningful exchanges.
