The agreement covers 65 companies seeking open innovation and 85 collaborating startups. Demand companies, including large corporations, mid-sized companies, and public institutions, have pledged active cooperation with startups, such as providing their resources and infrastructure and investing through corporate venture capital (CVC), to generate results through collaborative projects.

Ecopro, one of the participating companies, plans to work with Amber Road, a startup providing manufacturing AI solutions, to improve the efficiency of secondary battery material manufacturing processes. LG Uplus, meanwhile, has partnered with Wish, a startup developing AI-based content planning, production, and editing solutions, to conduct proof-of-concept projects for scenario summarization and review using AI.

This year, participation by mid-sized companies was boosted through the 'Mid-Sized Company-Startup Open Innovation Challenge', which was conducted for the first time to support mid-sized companies facing difficulties in participating in open innovation. Korea EZ, a mid-sized company, plans to collaborate with NeuroXT, an AI dementia diagnosis startup, to validate solutions for early screening, prevention, and management of Alzheimer's disease through this support program.

The 85 projects will be formally launched following this agreement ceremony, and at the end of the year, outstanding projects will be rewarded with incentives through an integrated competition.

No Yongseok, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "Considering the long-term collaboration required for open innovation, we will establish an effective support system based on achievements at each stage of collaboration, such as matching, technology verification, and market validation. We will also do our best to foster a fair cooperative environment to encourage participation in open innovation by various companies and institutions and to build a sustainable open innovation ecosystem."
