While the park's average monthly visitors over the two years since opening stood at around 8,750, this year the monthly average has soared to 33,500. This means the number of tourists has increased approximately fourfold since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration.

To commemorate the achievement of 700,000 cumulative visitors and to further promote the value of Aegibong, Gimpo City will host a special event, "2025 Aegibong, A Classic on a Midsummer Day," on August 30.

This commemorative event will feature a classical music concert headlined by Korea's top classical artists, as well as performances and exhibitions that deeply reflect Korean culture and sentiment, including K-POP and a special exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of Liberation. Baritone Song Kichang, soprano Park Jihyun, and pianist Jeon Hyeonjeong will deliver high-level vocal and instrumental performances, while a K-POP cover performance team will present a passionate show.

The exhibition program will include a special display titled "Taegeukgi, Flag of Resistance and Hope" to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation, reflecting on the meaning of Korea's modern and contemporary history. In addition, a photo exhibition tentatively titled "Baekdudaegan" will showcase the beautiful landscapes across the Korean Peninsula, and there will be an exhibition highlighting the footsteps of Aegibong's 700,000 visitors.

An official from Gimpo City stated, "Aegibong Peace Ecological Park is currently the most popular tourist destination in Korea. Reaching 700,000 cumulative visitors is proof that Aegibong continues to be loved by both citizens and tourists." He added, "Having a tourist site with 700,000 visitors is expected to have a positive ripple effect on Gimpo's local businesses, as well as the hospitality and food industries."

Meanwhile, Aegibong has gained nationwide popularity, ranking second in the "July 2025 National Hot Places" announced by Korea Tourism Data Lab. The city has also announced plans to expand night opening hours to once every weekend from August 9 to September 27.

With this extended schedule, the park will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in August and from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in September. The Starbucks cafe inside Aegibong will also adjust its hours, closing at 6:30 p.m. in August and 5:30 p.m. in September to align with the park's exit times. In addition, separate from this temporary extension, the special cultural event held on the last Saturday of each month at Aegibong will have its closing time adjusted to 8:00 p.m.
