This festival is designed as a night-time content event that allows visitors to experience the unique charm of the traditional market in the refreshing atmosphere of a summer night, offering citizens and tourists who visit Gyeongan Market a variety of new entertainment options.
In addition, the festival will feature a wide range of programs that young people and families can enjoy together, aiming to establish the traditional market as a cultural and leisure hub for the community, beyond just a place for shopping.
During the event, both inside and outside the market, there will be a "Beer Zone" where visitors can sample a variety of craft beers, a flea market selling unique products, hands-on experience booths such as caricature drawing, live performances by invited singers, and customer participation events.
In particular, the programs concentrated in the evening hours are expected to encourage active participation from younger generations and help change the perception of the market as a place visited only during the day.
Furthermore, this year marks the first time the event is being held in cooperation with the nearby Richensia Apartment complex, forming a mutually beneficial relationship. As such, it is expected to be remembered as a venue for coexistence between local residents and the traditional market.
Lee Hongjae, president of the Gyeongan Market Merchants Association, stated, "This festival will serve as an opportunity for the traditional market to transform from a place for daytime shopping into a venue that opens up a new night culture," adding, "I hope many citizens will visit and create special summer night memories."
