Hana Financial Group announced on August 26 that it opened the "Hana Bank USA LA Branch" in Los Angeles, California, on August 25 (local time), in an effort to expand its global business in the advanced financial market of the United States.

The opening ceremony was attended by Eunhyung Lee, Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group; Youngwan Kim, Consul General of Los Angeles; Hongsa Kwon, Chairman of Bando Construction; Byungtae Cho, Co-Chairman of the World Korean Business Convention Leading CEO; Hyungman Park, Chairman of Manhee Welfare Foundation; Yonghwa Ha, Chairman of Solomon Insurance Group; as well as key local customers and Korean residents, all celebrating the new beginning of the Hana Bank USA LA Branch.

Eunhyung Lee, Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group, stated, "It is deeply meaningful to announce a new beginning for our group here in Los Angeles, where many Koreans have formed a community and grown together with dreams and visions. We will faithfully fulfill our role as a reliable financial partner for the Korean community and the local society in LA, not only by providing convenient and innovative financial services for our customers, but also by offering integrated financial solutions that combine retail and corporate banking to help the community prosper."

Hana Bank USA is the local U.S. subsidiary of its key affiliate, Hana Bank, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprise loans and retail-oriented financial services. It has concentrated its business capabilities in the eastern United States, including its main office, New York branch, and Flushing branch.

With the establishment of the new Hana Bank USA LA Branch-the first new channel in the U.S. in about 22 years-Hana Financial Group has set up a strategic base in the western region. The group plans to accelerate its efforts to penetrate the local financial market by expanding organic synergies with existing channels across both the East and West Coasts.

Hana Financial Group is the Korean financial institution with the longest history (48 years) in the United States. Through the Hana Bank New York Branch and its local subsidiaries, KEB Hana New York Financial and KEB Hana LA Financial, the group has focused on investment banking, corporate finance, and trade finance, while Hana Bank USA has established itself as a community bank in the local market.

Since turning a profit in the third quarter of 2022, Hana Bank USA has continued to deliver strong results. In May, all regulatory restrictions previously imposed by local financial authorities were lifted, enabling the bank to expand its business and open new channels in the United States.

Through the launch of the Hana Bank USA LA Branch in the western United States, Hana Financial Group aims to go beyond simple physical channel expansion by strengthening regionally focused operations tailored to local needs, thereby establishing a well-balanced business network across the entire country.

In addition, the group plans to expand financial support for Korean companies entering the U.S. market in line with local policy changes, and will actively cooperate in attracting U.S. corporate investment to Korea. Hana Financial Group will also continue to provide a variety of customized financial services for the local Korean community, maintaining its "customer-centric management" strategy in the global market.

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group, which is leading the global financial market with a presence in 26 regions worldwide, plans to open one new branch in Poland and two in India in the second half of this year to further expand its overseas network.
