On this day, Jeong wrote on social media, "President Lee is truly smart. I believe he demonstrated his wit as a negotiator through a very strategic choice of words," expressing this view.
Jeong added, "President Lee boldly won over President Donald Trump by presenting content and approaches that Trump favors," and said, "When President Lee suggested, 'Let’s build Trump World in North Korea so that he can play golf,' it must have caught Trump's attention."
He continued, "President Lee’s remark about being a 'peacemaker and pacemaker' was a moment that fully showcased his qualities as a negotiator, and I highly appreciate it," adding, "He praised President Trump as a global ambassador for peace and is leading the way in resuming North Korea-U.S. dialogue."
Regarding President Trump’s response expressing his desire to meet North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un within this year, Jeong analyzed, "This could become the greatest achievement of this summit," and added, "If North Korea-U.S. dialogue resumes once again after the Hanoi no-deal, it will make a significant contribution to peace on the Korean Peninsula."
He also stated, "If President Trump’s North Korea-U.S. dialogue takes place, there will be significant progress in inter-Korean relations, North Korea-U.S. relations, and South Korea-U.S. relations, in political, military, and economic aspects for all parties involved, and I hope that will be the case."
