Jilin City has maintained a friendly exchange relationship with Siheung since 2013. The city delegation visited Jilin for a four-day, three-night trip at the official invitation of Jilin City.
On this day, the delegation met with Wang Gil, mayor of Jilin, in the conference room of the Jilin Municipal People's Government. They reviewed the achievements of the past decade in educational, youth, and cultural exchanges, and exchanged opinions on the potential for joint development in future industries such as advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and biotechnology.
The delegation also toured the Jilin City Administrative Service Center and participated in the Songhua River economic experience program. In particular, they directly observed a regional revitalization model that combines water tourism and cultural experiences along the Songhua River.
Mayor Lim stated, "Through this visit, I hope to establish a multi-layered cooperation structure encompassing both culture and the economy, and to grow together within the global network."
Following the visit, the city delegation is scheduled to attend the 4th Northeast Asia Regional Cooperation Roundtable to be held in Changchun on August 26.
