Gyeryong Complex Cultural Center to Open in 2026... Enhancing Quality of Life for Residents Perspective view of Gyeryong Complex Cultural Center / Gyeryong City

The construction of the Gyeryong Complex Cultural Center, a project promoted by Gyeryong City in South Chungcheong Province, is entering its final stages and is set to officially open in January 2026.

As a living SOC complex that integrates lifelong learning, culture, family welfare, and parking facilities in one place, the center is expected to dramatically improve the living environment for citizens.

Gyeryong City announced on the 25th that, after the Gyeryong Complex Cultural Center project was selected for the Living SOC Complex Project in 2020, it received approval from the central investment review in 2022, broke ground in October 2023, and completed construction at the end of July this year.

Accordingly, the city plans to finish interior work by October, conduct trial operations in November and December, and officially open its doors in January next year.

The Gyeryong Complex Cultural Center, located at 347 Eomsa-ri, Eomsa-myeon, has a total project cost of 29.1 billion won (3.7 billion won from the national government, 1.5 billion won from the province, and 23.9 billion won from the city).

The center consists of four above-ground floors and two basement levels (with a total floor area of 7,935 square meters and a building area of 3,065 square meters), and features a Lifelong Learning and Culture Center, a Family Center, and a residential parking lot with 156 spaces, among various other convenience facilities.

In particular, the residential parking lot is expected to play a major role in alleviating the ongoing parking shortage and contribute to improving the local traffic environment.

Additionally, by offering lifelong learning programs, family-oriented welfare services, and personalized cultural activity support, the center is anticipated to become a hub for community communication in the region.

Mayor Lee Eungwoo stated, "This integrated living SOC facility will bring positive changes to the lives of our citizens," adding, "It will serve as a catalyst for Gyeryong City to become an even better place to live."

Meanwhile, the city plans to maximize the facility's utilization by hosting a variety of cultural events and resident participation programs upon opening, and will also establish a systematic operational plan to enhance citizen satisfaction.
