Make Korea Laugh! The "Ultimate Comedy Festival," a celebration dedicated solely to laughter that erupts at the festival grounds, will be held in Busan.
The city of Busan will host the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) from August 29 to September 7, spanning ten days at venues including BEXCO Auditorium and Haeundae Gunam-ro.
The opening ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on August 29 at BEXCO Auditorium, hosted by comedian Park Myungsoo. Over 3,000 people, including Mayor Park Heongjoon, Executive Committee Chair Kim Junho, and local citizens, will attend. The stage will open with a performance by the LED performance team "Saengdonggam Crew." Following this, award-winning YouTuber LalaL, the American team "Bunk Puppet," and cast members from KBS "Gag Concert" will take the stage to energize the atmosphere.
This year, BICF has prepared a variety of performances across BEXCO and the Haeundae area. "Mandam Assemble@BICF," "Seoul Comedy All Stars," "Heegeuk Sanghoe," and the fresh, never-before-seen stage "Gag Concert" await the audience.
New programs are also drawing attention. The "Comedy Book Concert" will be held at Dongseo University Design Idea Lab, where comedians who have published books, such as Jeon Yooseong and Lee Hongryeol, will interact with the audience and hold autograph sessions.
Outdoor stages have also been prepared. From September 4 to 7, "Comedy Street" will take place at Haeundae Gunam-ro, featuring street art teams performing comic acts. The "Comedy Open Concert" will be a traveling delivery performance, held at Jung-gu Yurari Square on September 2, the 53rd Division on September 3, and Baekyang Cultural Arts Center in Busanjin-gu on September 6. In July, a pre-event "Guerrilla Comedy Concert" was held at Myeongho Middle School.
The closing ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on September 7 at the Grand Theater of the Busan Cultural Center. The finale will feature the "I Am a Gag Singer" stage, which combines comedy and music. The festival will conclude with an awards ceremony.
Tickets for BICF can be reserved through Interpark Ticket. For more information, please visit the official website.
Mayor Park Heongjoon stated, "Now in its 13th year, BICF has grown into Korea's leading comedy festival," and added, "We hope for the enthusiastic participation of citizens and tourists alike."
