Studio Lassa was founded in June by key members of the team behind the 2023 Korea Game Awards winner , including CEO Noh Changkyu, Project Director Kim Taeyeon, and Art Director Kim Hyun, with the goal of developing console games. The studio is currently working on a new title, aiming for a 2028 release.

Wemade explained that it decided to acquire equity in Studio Lassa after comprehensively evaluating the studio's creativity, development capabilities, and potential for global success. The acquired stake amounts to approximately 25%.

With this investment, Wemade has secured global publishing rights and the option for a second investment in the new title currently being developed by Studio Lassa. The investment funds will be used across various aspects of game development, including the recruitment of key personnel, prototype development, and the establishment of art resources.

Wemade plans to further strengthen its position in the global market by securing a lineup of global console intellectual properties (IP) in the future.

Park Kwanho, CEO of Wemade, said, "It is very meaningful to work with the nation's top-level developers whose capabilities have been proven," adding, "We will provide full support so that Korean games, together with Studio Lassa, can make their presence felt in the North American and European markets."
