Kiwoom Securities announced on the 25th that it is holding Season 2 of the 'Kiwoom REST API' trading event, which allows users to build their own automated trading systems.
The Kiwoom REST API is Kiwoom Securities' next-generation API (Application Programming Interface) service, launched in March. It provides a web-based programming interface that enables investors to implement their own trading strategies as automated trading systems. Without the need for separate program installation, users can easily access core functions such as stock trading and market data inquiries on various operating systems (OS) including Windows, Mac, and Linux.
By utilizing the Kiwoom REST API, users can access essential information for trading decisions, such as account evaluation balances and stock candlestick charts. It also enables the implementation of flexible trading strategies, such as executing trades automatically when preset criteria are met.
As of the 18th of this month, the cumulative number of API calls has exceeded 500 million, and the total number of users has surpassed 10,000, quickly establishing itself as a new investment channel for Kiwoom Securities.
This event targets first-time users of the 'Kiwoom REST API.' During the event period, all customers who make transactions of at least 1 KRW through the Kiwoom REST API will receive a cash reward of 10,000 KRW. Customers who make cumulative transactions of 1 million KRW or more will receive an additional 10,000 KRW in cash. The event runs from August 21 to October 31.
In particular, the 'AI Coding Assistant,' which serves as a guide for coding beginners, has become a key driver in lowering the entry barrier to algorithmic trading for the Kiwoom REST API, with 1,700 subscribers and over 13,000 cumulative questions as of the 18th of this month.
A representative from Kiwoom Securities stated, "We are holding Season 2 of the trading event so that more investors can experience automating their own investment strategies," adding, "The Kiwoom REST API will become a powerful investment tool for those who want to implement automated trading with their own criteria, automate rebalancing strategies, or monitor multiple accounts and stocks simultaneously."
The Kiwoom REST API can be easily applied for on the Kiwoom Securities website. The website also provides a variety of resources for beginners, including an API guide, the AI Coding Assistant, and a Q&A board.
