The Safety Experience Education Center under the Sejong City Office of Education announced on August 25 that it began operating its second semester experiential programs starting from August 20. At 12 different experience centers-including those for earthquakes, wind and flood disasters, automobiles, aviation, and ships-students participate in selected centers, with the programs reflecting current social issues and the needs of schools.

The purpose is to cultivate the ability to prepare for safety accidents and respond quickly to crisis situations through hands-on education.

Before the safety education sessions, instructors thoroughly prepared for smooth program operation by familiarizing themselves in advance with the use of experiential equipment and teaching guides, and by conducting mock safety classes tailored to each school level.

Through pre- and post-program consultations, the quality of education has been enhanced so that students of various age groups can apply what they learn from the experience programs to real life.

In particular, for the second semester, the program structure for middle school students and above has been improved to provide more experiential opportunities. In the job experience center, virtual reality (VR) equipment has been introduced to help students understand and respond to risks in industrial settings. The mountain climbing experience center (including climbing activities) has also been diversified to offer students a wider range of experiences.

Director Ko Hyejeong stated, "We will continue to strengthen the substance of our programs through ongoing communication and consultation with schools," and added, "We will fulfill our role as an educational institution so that children in Sejong City can lead safe lives through hands-on safety education."
