On August 25, Hana Securities predicted that Pemtrom would turn a profit this year.
Kwon Tae-woo, a researcher at Hana Securities, explained, "It has been reported that the 8800WI-HBM equipment has passed quality tests for domestic IDMs," adding, "This equipment enables precise inspection from the lower to upper layers in both pre- and post-processes of HBM stacking."
He continued, "The equipment secures technological differentiation by overcoming the limitations of conventional automated optical inspection," and added, "As customer approval procedures progress, the supply schedule is gradually becoming more concrete."
He stated, "It is highly likely that supply will begin within the fourth quarter of this year," and added, "There are still internal procedures and supplementary document reviews remaining, so the official purchase order (PO) will be processed according to protocol." He also emphasized, "Production schedules are being coordinated with the goal of recognizing revenue within the year," and "It is expected that the equipment will be installed mainly in existing lines."
Kwon analyzed, "Considering the customer's new fab completion schedule, there is a possibility for discussions on additional volumes," and "There is also potential for linkage with new line expansions in the United States." He explained, "The schedule has been somewhat delayed compared to initial expectations, and it is still difficult to determine the future scale of supply volumes." However, he added, "The initial batch represents a significant turning point that will change the market's perception of Pemtrom's technological capabilities."
It is estimated that this year, the company will achieve sales of 70.7 billion KRW and an operating profit of 3.5 billion KRW. Sales are expected to increase by 24.1% compared to last year, and operating profit will turn positive.
