A "local tour" event will be held in Jung-gu, Daejeon, offering participants the chance to discover the hidden charms of everyday life throughout the district and experience local culture, history, and stories.
Jung-gu, Daejeon will operate a themed local tour program that connects the district's historical and cultural assets from August 30 to November 18, 2025.
This local tour, which consists of a total of eight themes, is focused on helping visitors from outside Jung-gu discover the district's hidden everyday attractions and experience its culture, history, and stories.
Main themes include the "Jung-gu Dark Tour," which revisits the painful history and memories of the Korean people by visiting sites such as the former Daejeon Prison and encourages historical reflection and appreciation of the significance of these spaces; the "Jung-gu Book Festival and Filial Piety Culture Root Tour," which is linked to the district's representative festivals; and the "Original Downtown Culture Walking Tour," which explores the artistic sensibilities and cultural appeal of Eunhaeng-dong and Daeheung-dong's streets of culture and art, guided by cultural and art experts.
The content for each theme will be developed in collaboration with local residents, community activists, and young people, vividly conveying the spaces and stories of Jung-gu.
Kim Jesun, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, "This local tour will be more than just sightseeing; it will be an opportunity to discover the hidden charms throughout Jung-gu. I hope many people will participate and have a meaningful time connecting with the everyday life of the district."
