On August 22, Galleria Luxury Hall reopened its renovated stores for the French luxury brands Hermes and Goyard.

The core of the West renovation is the relocation of high-end brands Hermes and Goyard. This is the first time since the opening of the Seoul Luxury Hall that both brands have moved from East to West.

Hermes has expanded its store to approximately 1.7 times its previous size. The company explained that both the interior and exterior have been completely redesigned to provide customers with a more comfortable shopping environment.

The new store features a design inspired by traditional Korean art and the dynamism of K-pop. The exterior is a modern reinterpretation inspired by dancheong patterns, while the interior emphasizes vibrancy through contrasting pastel and neon colors inspired by K-pop culture. The window display was created in collaboration with contemporary artist Lee Mijoo and is based on this year’s Hermes theme, “Drawn to Craft.”

Goyard now welcomes customers in a space about 1.5 times larger than before. To celebrate the reopening, it is introducing new products in special limited-edition colors “Iris” and “Fuchsia.” Three items-Vendome Nano, Vendome Mini, and Anjou Mini bags-are being launched in Korea for the first time. A new “VIC Lounge,” a customized private service area for VIP customers, has also been introduced.

With the completion this month of the large-scale West renovation that lasted about a year, Galleria is now able to offer customers a new and differentiated shopping environment. A Hanwha Galleria representative said, “With the strengthened luxury lineup in the West, we have further solidified our position as Korea’s leading high-end department store.”

Some brands’ relocation and renovation have also brought changes to the East space. First, the Italian high-end lifestyle brand Loro Piana is reopening its renovated store. The exterior design has been newly decorated in the brand’s signature “Cumul” color. Customers can also discover the new “Royal Lightness” collection, introduced for the first time this year. Royal Lightness is a fabric blend of wool, silk, and cashmere, offering a lightweight and soft feel.

Italian high-end designer brand The Attico has also opened its first store in the East. As its first store in Asia, The Attico is a luxury fashion brand launched in 2016 by designers Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, known for their Italian street style.

In June, the world’s first men’s store for American luxury daily wear brand James Perse opened, and in the same month, German high jewelry brand Wellendorff entered the Korean market for the first time. In addition, Swiss premium watch brand H. Moser & Cie. opened its first exclusive boutique in Korea, continuously strengthening Galleria’s competitiveness in the luxury jewelry and watch sector.

A Hanwha Galleria representative stated, “Through this renovation, both West and East have been reborn as a unified ‘One Luxury’ space,” adding, “We will continue to deliver differentiated value to our customers by attracting a diverse range of brands and innovating our spaces.”
