According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the perceived temperature nationwide is expected to reach around 35 degrees Celsius due to the heatwave. As a result, heatwave advisories have been issued for most regions across the country. This is largely due to the influence of the edge of the North Pacific high-pressure system over Korea. Although there will be considerable cloud cover nationwide, temperatures will remain high. Some urban and coastal areas may also experience tropical nights.
Morning lows are forecast to range from 22 to 28 degrees Celsius, while afternoon highs are expected to reach between 31 and 36 degrees. The major regional morning lows are forecast as follows: Seoul 27 degrees, Incheon 26 degrees, Suwon 25 degrees, Chuncheon 24 degrees, Gangneung 28 degrees, Cheongju 26 degrees, Daejeon 26 degrees, Jeonju 25 degrees, Gwangju 25 degrees, Daegu 25 degrees, Busan 27 degrees, and Jeju 27 degrees. The forecasted highs are: Seoul 34 degrees, Incheon 32 degrees, Suwon 33 degrees, Chuncheon 33 degrees, Gangneung 35 degrees, Cheongju 35 degrees, Daejeon 34 degrees, Jeonju 35 degrees, Gwangju 34 degrees, Daegu 36 degrees, Busan 34 degrees, and Jeju 33 degrees.
However, from the morning to nighttime on this day, showers are expected to fall mainly in northern Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi Province, and the central and northern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, as well as Jeju Island, temporarily easing the heat. Some areas may also experience gusty winds, thunder, and lightning, so caution is advised. The expected precipitation is between 5 and 40 mm. Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at a 'good' level nationwide.
