On August 22, Gakbuk-myeon in Cheongdo-gun (Governor Kim Hasu) conducted a "Take Your Trash With You" campaign near Daedonggol (1272, Osan-ri), a popular summer destination, in collaboration with the three Saemaeul organizations of Gakbuk-myeon to promote environmental cleanliness.
On this day, around 40 members of the three Saemaeul organizations in Gakbuk-myeon collected trash in the area and promoted the prohibition of illegal dumping of household waste, aiming to keep the non-designated tourist sites clean and well-managed.
Given that there have been several instances of heavy rainfall this summer, the participants also inspected the site to ensure that flood-related waste would not float in the valley.
Jung Kyungsuk, head of Gakbuk-myeon, said, "Many tourists have visited Daedonggol to cool off during the summer heat, and we carried out this campaign with the three Saemaeul organizations of Gakbuk-myeon to preserve a clean and clear environment. We will continue our environmental maintenance activities to protect the beautiful natural scenery of Gakbuk-myeon."
