2025 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation: Gyeongsang Region Results for the "Accommodation" Sector Announced

KCA Korea Consumer Evaluation has announced the results of the 2025 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation for the "Accommodation" sector in the Gyeongsang region, hosted by the Korea Consumer Council and organized by Korea Consumer Evaluation.

This evaluation aims to realize the eight fundamental consumer rights guaranteed by Article 4 of the Framework Act on Consumers, such as the right to have opinions reflected, the right to receive information, and the right to choose, by announcing consumer evaluation results for each industry based on the Standard Industrial Classification. It also seeks to provide consumers with objective and useful information to improve the quality of their consumer lives.

The 2025 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation for "Accommodation" is conducted to promote the continuous development of the domestic accommodation industry, select outstanding accommodation facilities that provide high-quality services and receive high ratings from actual guests, and introduce them to the public each year.

The evaluation was divided into two main sectors. The hotel sector targeted hotels with star ratings certified by the Korea Tourism Association (KTA) and the Jeju Tourism Association (JTA), while the accommodation sector included general accommodation businesses, residential accommodations, campgrounds, and camping sites.

From June to July, a preliminary survey was conducted on accommodation facilities nationwide based on the number of reviews on portal sites and reservation platforms. Candidates who ranked within the top 32.81% were notified, and ultimately, the top 0.3% of outstanding accommodation facilities were selected according to the evaluation criteria below.

Korea Consumer Evaluation selected between one and three outstanding accommodation facilities per region and sector, based on the actual experiences of consumers who used these facilities. The final evaluation was conducted according to six criteria: facility satisfaction, cleanliness satisfaction, staff friendliness, response to complaints, accessibility, and overall evaluation. The list of outstanding accommodation facilities in the accommodation sector is as follows.

A representative from Korea Consumer Evaluation stated, "Consumers' expectations for accommodation services are becoming more segmented due to various factors such as the purpose of travel, type of stay, and companions. As a result, accommodation facilities offering customized services, such as enhanced privacy, emotional space design, and strengthened wellness elements, are gaining attention. We hope that the list of outstanding accommodation facilities, selected based on actual guest reviews, will serve as practical information for consumers choosing their accommodations."

The representative also added, "In line with the purpose and significance of the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation, we plan to support the revitalization of household consumption for low-income families through the 'Fruit of Love' campaign. In particular, through the 'Child Sponsorship Program,' we provide regular support for living expenses, educational costs, and medical expenses for children and adolescents from low-income and vulnerable groups. We hope this will help them lead healthy childhood and adolescent years. We will continue to pay close attention and move forward together."
