Pledge to Stand Firm Against the Lee Jaemyung Administration
Ahn Cheolsoo and Cho Kyungtae, candidates vying for the leadership of the People Power Party, positioned themselves as the vanguard of resistance against the Lee Jaemyung administration during their final vision presentations on August 22, declaring, "We will stand up to the Lee Jaemyung regime with confidence."

At the 6th People Power Party National Convention held at Cheongju Osco in Chungbuk on the afternoon of August 22, candidate Ahn stated, "How can it be justified to pardon Yoon Mihyang, who exploited the comfort women grandmothers, on the 80th anniversary of Liberation? Isn't it infuriating? On the August 15 Liberation Day, I conveyed the deep sorrow of our people directly to President Lee Jaemyung."
He continued, "During the COVID-19 crisis, I went down to Daegu myself and risked my life to save citizens; I am someone who acts before speaking. This time was no different. Who is truly standing up to the Democratic Party right now?" he emphasized.
Ahn asserted, "I am the one who can confront the ruthless Lee Jaemyung administration, the only candidate who defeated Lee Jaemyung in the 2022 presidential election, the one who can crush Lee Jaemyung's incitement to rebellion and plant the conservative flag in the local elections. Let's make conservatism great again, bring the party back to the people, and achieve victory in the name of our members."

Candidate Cho Kyungtae stated, "The People Power Party must become an authentic conservative party that maintains integrity and purity," and added, "I, Cho Kyungtae, will become a party leader who gives hope to the youth and restores a future for them."
Cho also emphasized, "If I become party leader, I will ensure victory in next year's local elections. I will be a party leader who confidently stands up to the ruthless Lee Jaemyung administration. Let's move forward on the path to victory together with Cho Kyungtae."
At the convention, the People Power Party will elect one new party leader, four Supreme Council members, and one Youth Supreme Council member. If none of the candidates-Kim Moonsoo, Ahn Cheolsoo, Jang Donghyuk, or Cho Kyungtae (listed in alphabetical order)-receives a majority of votes, a runoff between the top two candidates will be held, and the final winner will be confirmed on the 26th.
