'Changnyeong Garlic Burger' Featuring Changnyeong Garlic Returns to McDonald's Locations Nationwide

Established as a Leading Model of Mutual Growth
for Increasing Farmers' Income and Revitalizing the Local Economy

Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province held a tasting event on the 22nd at the county office cafeteria with around 400 employees to celebrate the nationwide re-release of the 'Changnyeong Garlic Burger,' which features Changnyeong garlic, the region's signature specialty, at McDonald's locations across Korea on the 11th.

The 'Changnyeong Garlic Burger' is the first and most symbolic result of McDonald's Korea's 'Taste of Korea' project, which was launched to promote mutual growth with local farms. Since its debut in 2021, the burger has enjoyed explosive popularity and continuous requests from consumers for its return, leading to its fourth comeback this year.

This event was organized using cafeteria operation funds to directly showcase the excellence of Changnyeong garlic and the achievements of local farm collaboration. By offering the burger as a lunch menu item to cafeteria users, the county aimed to share local pride and a commitment to boosting consumption of Changnyeong garlic.

Meanwhile, to commemorate the re-release, Changnyeong County is also running a special event linked to the 'Hometown Love Donation Program.' Until August 31, 2,000 people who donate more than 100,000 won to Changnyeong County will be selected by lottery to receive a mobile voucher for a 'Changnyeong Garlic Beef Burger Set.'

Additionally, in partnership with McDonald's Korea, the county plans to continue engaging with consumers through various events, including the 'Changnyeong Garlic Burger Mascot Drawing Contest.'

County Governor Sung Nakin stated, "We expect that public-private cooperation cases like the re-release of the Changnyeong Garlic Burger will greatly contribute to enhancing the brand value of Changnyeong garlic and increasing farmers' income." He added, "We will continue to pursue various innovative projects to strengthen nationwide recognition and promote consumption of local agricultural products."
