Nonsan City, located in South Chungcheong Province, has officially launched its Smart Farm Complex Project, which aims to lead the future of agricultural innovation.

The core objective of this project is to ensure the stable settlement of young farmers and to nurture them as specialized talents in smart agriculture, raising expectations for a youth-centered agricultural renaissance.

According to the city on August 22, a kick-off briefing for the basic and detailed design of the "Nonsan Smart Farm Complex Project" was held in the city hall's situation room on August 21, accelerating the project's progress.

More than 20 participants, including city officials, experts, and young farmers, attended the briefing to share the project overview and implementation schedule, and to exchange a wide range of opinions.

The Nonsan Smart Farm Complex is a lease-based complex designed to support the independence of young farmers. It will be established in the Magupyeong-ri area of Bujeok-myeon, covering approximately 14.1 hectares (about 40,000 pyeong).

The city plans to complete the design and selection of resident farmers this year, and to begin construction in the first half of 2026.

Through this project, the city aims to build a farming environment that integrates cutting-edge smart agriculture technologies, support young farmers in settling in the region and starting businesses, and ultimately establish Nonsan as a hub city for youth-led innovation in smart agriculture.

In particular, the city expects that the combination of creative ideas from the younger generation and smart farm technologies will enable Nonsan to emerge as a leading city for future-oriented agriculture.

Mayor Baek Seonghyeon stated, "The city will provide strong support so that young farmers can grow into smart agriculture professionals and take root stably," adding, "We will create an environment where young farmers can fully realize their ideas to drive the advancement and differentiation of agriculture."
