Ulsan Petroglyph Museum Holds Special Exhibition to Commemorate World Heritage Inscription of "Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream"

"World Heritage: The Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream We Love"
Composed of Three Sections Including
"World Heritage Inscription, the Glorious Moment"

The Ulsan Petroglyph Museum is holding a special exhibition titled "World Heritage: The Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream We Love" in the first-floor special exhibition hall to commemorate the inscription of the "Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream" as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


The exhibition shares the glorious moment of being inscribed as a World Heritage Site and introduces the outstanding universal value of the Bangudae Stream Petroglyphs. It also reflects on the significance of achieving World Heritage status, which was made possible through the deep affection and efforts of people from all walks of life.


The exhibition will run until February 28 of next year and consists of three sections: ▲ "World Heritage Inscription, the Glorious Moment" ▲ "Outstanding Universal Value" ▲ "The Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream We Love."


▲ "Section 1: World Heritage Inscription, the Glorious Moment" shares the proud moment when the "Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream" became Korea's 17th World Heritage Site at the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Paris, France in July.


▲ "Section 2: Outstanding Universal Value" explores the significance of the inscription of the "Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream" as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and introduces the meaning and value of the heritage from a World Heritage perspective.


▲ "Section 3: The Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream We Love" highlights the efforts made by many people to promote the value of the Bangudae Stream Petroglyphs from their discovery in the 1970s to the present day.


An official from the Ulsan Petroglyph Museum stated, "This special exhibition was prepared to honor the long journey toward achieving the dream of World Heritage inscription for the 'Petroglyphs of Bangudae Stream' and to pay tribute to the deep affection shown by people from all walks of life. We hope you will visit the museum, enjoy the exhibition, and take time to appreciate the beauty of the Bangudae Stream area."
