Shin Pyung: "If Han Donghun Had Not Betrayed Us, Infinite Glory Awaited Him"
Kim Gunhee's Side: "She Never Made Such Remarks"
Former People Power Party leader Han Donghun has issued a rebuttal regarding the "statements from prison" attributed to Kim Gunhee, who is currently detained in a detention center. Han appeared unbothered by the so-called "Han Donghun betrayal" remarks allegedly made by Kim, as relayed by lawyer Shin Pyung, who is known as a mentor to former President Yoon Sukyeol. Meanwhile, Kim's side has released an official statement denying that she made such comments, sparking controversy over the authenticity of the remarks.

On the 21st, Han posted on his social media (SNS), "I do not know what was said between Kim Gunhee and Shin Pyung, but what is clear is that, even if I were offered 'infinite glory' in return, I would prevent both the sale of government posts and illegal martial law." He continued, "That is the way not to betray the people," adding, "I will continue to do so in the future." He emphasized that even if he could turn back time, he would have resolutely opposed both former President Yoon's martial law and Kim Gunhee's illegal actions.
Han's statement was prompted by a post made by lawyer Shin on his own social media the previous day. On the 20th, Shin wrote on Facebook, "I visited Seoul Southern Detention Center on the 19th and met with Kim Gunhee," and revealed part of their conversation. According to Shin, during the meeting, Kim expressed resentment, saying, "How could Han Donghun do such a thing?" and "If he hadn't betrayed (former President Yoon and me) like that, wouldn't infinite glory have awaited him?"

As debate continued in political circles over these remarks, Kim Gunhee's attorney Yoo Junghwa issued a statement on the 20th, clarifying, "It has been clearly confirmed that these remarks did not come from Kim Gunhee." Yoo also pointed out, "Mr. Shin, who is not an appointed attorney, met with Kim Gunhee without authorization," and criticized, "Shin is distorting and conveying his own political views and imagination as if they were Kim's statements, engaging in improper conduct." It is interpreted that Kim's side moved quickly to distance themselves from Shin as public opinion toward Kim worsened due to Shin's social media posts and media interviews.
