After Hitting Pedestrians, Taxi Crashes Into Storefront Wall
A taxi crashed into two pedestrians and then struck the outer wall of a commercial building on a side street in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
According to the police and fire authorities, the accident occurred at around 6:42 p.m. on August 21. A driver in his 60s and two pedestrians in their 40s sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.
The taxi came to a stop after hitting the pedestrians and colliding with the building's exterior wall. The pedestrians were caught between the vehicle and the building but reportedly avoided serious injury.
About 10 police officers and 25 firefighters were deployed for the rescue operation, which was completed in approximately eight minutes.
The police tested the driver for alcohol and drugs, but no related substances were detected. A police official stated, "We are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident through analysis of CCTV footage and other means."
