Strengthening Psychological Support Capabilities
for Disaster Preparedness at the Mental Health Welfare Center

This training was organized to protect the mental health of county residents and to enhance practical capabilities for a swift response in crisis situations.
The training was held during the Ulchi Exercise period, adding a sense of realism to the disaster response drills, and focused on strengthening the psychological support skills of staff members. The main goal was to minimize anxiety and psychological trauma among residents in the event of a disaster and to help the community recover stability as quickly as possible.
The program consisted of lectures and hands-on practice led by an experienced instructor. Participants learned the basic principles and application techniques of PFA, and improved their response skills through scenario-based training that simulated real-life situations.
The center has established a foundation for applying standardized disaster psychological response procedures in the field through this training. It also plans to further strengthen the community safety net that protects residents' mental health by regularly providing training and developing professional personnel.
County Governor Nam Han-gwon stated, "We will expand practical, hands-on training with the mindset that even a small drill can save lives in a crisis," adding, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure that residents can regain psychological stability in any disaster situation."
