'Ansan Healing Branch 4' is the 17th compact shelter established by Gyeonggi Province. It has been created as a safe and comfortable resting space for platform workers such as delivery drivers, substitute drivers, courier workers, and private tutors.

Due to the nature of their work, mobile workers frequently travel and have irregular break times, making dedicated rest areas essential. In response, Gyeonggi Province is pursuing the core pledges of the 8th popularly elected administration, which include improving the welfare of mobile workers and enhancing their working environment. As part of these policies, the province is supporting the establishment and expansion of shelters.

'Healing Branch 4' is located near the public parking lot in Seonbu-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan. This area serves as a key transportation hub in the western region and is densely populated with large residential complexes and commercial districts. Mobile workers such as delivery, substitute driving, and courier workers can easily access the shelter along their work routes. The proximity to public transportation routes and major arterial roads provides excellent access to urban, residential, and commercial areas. In particular, the shelter is expected to see high demand due to its convenient accessibility even during weekends and peak times.

The compact shelter is built as a container booth with an area of approximately 27 square meters (about 8 pyeong) and is equipped with various amenities, including air conditioning and heating, wireless internet, a water dispenser, a TV, and sofas. It operates year-round with a 24-hour unmanned entry authentication system, allowing safe use during nights and holidays.

Mobile workers who wish to use the facility can access it by registering as a member of the mobile worker shelter entry QR system on the Gyeonggi Province Labor Rights Center website using their smartphone device. After logging in, they can tag their mobile entry pass (QR code) to enter.

Kim Dae-soon, the Second Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "With the opening of the Ansan compact mobile worker shelter Healing Branch 4, more mobile workers will be able to rest safely and comfortably, which is expected to make a substantial contribution to protecting their health rights. We will continue to expand shelters close to living areas to further improve workers' rights and welfare."

Meanwhile, Ansan City previously established its first base mobile worker shelter (Healing Branch 1, Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu) on December 27, 2022; its second compact shelter (Healing Branch 2, Idong, Sangnok-gu) on December 27, 2023; and its third compact shelter (Healing Branch 3, Seongpo-dong, Sangnok-gu) on September 30, 2024. The fourth mobile worker shelter (Healing Branch 4, Seonbu-dong, Danwon-gu) has now been added.

Since 2021, Gyeonggi Province has operated a total of 27 mobile worker shelters (10 base shelters and 17 compact shelters), the highest number in the country, in line with its shelter creation plan. The province plans to expand this number to 32 by 2026. Through the opening of this new shelter, Gyeonggi Province aims to actively promote the protection of mobile workers' right to rest, improvement of working conditions, and enhancement of welfare.
