Career Experience and Admissions Counseling
to Be Offered at Out-of-School Youth Support Center on August 25
On August 21, Gwangju City announced that it will hold the "1st Out-of-School Youth Career and College Admission Fair" on August 25 at the Gwangju Out-of-School Youth Support Center in Hwajeong-dong, Seo-gu, in collaboration with the Gwangju Out-of-School Youth Support Center and the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education.
This fair is an expanded and reorganized version of the college admission briefing sessions that have been held over the past ten years. It will offer career experience programs, college admissions counseling, and college admission briefings, providing comprehensive career and admissions information to out-of-school youth.
Under the theme "Out-of-School Youth, Designing the Future," the event will be divided into two parts. Participants can attend the career and college admission fair on-site without prior registration.
The first part, the "Career and College Admission Fair" (2:00-4:00 PM), will feature booths from 18 universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, as well as more than 50 booths covering fields such as the fourth industrial revolution, career experience, self-understanding, and youth policy.
The second part, the "College Admission Briefing" (4:00-6:00 PM), will provide information on university admission through the qualification exam, this year’s college admissions process, and mid- to long-term admissions strategies for the 2027-2028 academic years.
Lee Youngdong, Director of the Department of Gender Equality and Family, said, "We hope this fair will provide out-of-school youth with a variety of career experiences and admissions information," adding, "We will continue to listen to voices from the field and provide support so that young people can expand their choices in education and career paths."
Meanwhile, Gwangju City, together with the five district Out-of-School Youth Support Centers, provides a variety of services, including counseling, learning support, career support, health checkups, and self-development activities.
