Salvation Army and Lotte Homeshopping Open 98th Small Library in Jeonju The 98th branch of the "Small Library" opened on the 20th at the Ttasum Regional Children's Center in Jeonju, Jeonbuk. Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Korea Territory (Commissioner Kim Byungyun) announced that, together with Lotte Homeshopping, it held an opening ceremony for the 98th branch of the 'Small Library' at the Ttasum Regional Children's Center in Jeonju, Jeonbuk on August 20.

The 'Small Library Support Project' is a flagship social contribution initiative by the Salvation Army and Lotte Homeshopping, launched in 2013. Its goal is to provide children in culturally marginalized areas with opportunities for reading and learning, as well as to create a stable educational environment. This year, over 100 institutions applied nationwide through an open call, drawing significant attention.

The Ttasum Regional Children's Center, which was selected this time, has played a pivotal role in child care since its opening in 2011. However, as the demand for care increased, it faced challenges due to a lack of learning space. Through this support, the center has been remodeled into a child-friendly structure and equipped with digital devices such as tablet PCs and beam projectors, transforming it into an environment where children can become familiar with IT and engage in both online and offline reading and learning.

Commissioner Kim Byungyun of the Salvation Army stated, "The opening of the 98th Small Library today marks a precious moment that opens another door of dreams for children," and added, "We hope that the Small Library, created together with the local community, will become a foundation for children's growth and hope."

The Small Library Support Project is set to open its 100th branch this year. In particular, it plans to expand sustainable spaces in the community by creating eco-friendly libraries utilizing recycled materials.
