Shinsegae Wins Four Red Dot Design Awards
Media Art from Shinsegae Square Recognized Among World's Top Three Design Prizes
K-Content Captivates Global Audience, Establishing Shinsegae as a Leading Tourist Destination
On August 21, Shinsegae Department Store announced that its self-produced content had won four design awards in the Brand & Communication category at the Red Dot Design Award, one of the world's top three design competitions.
The award-winning content includes the Christmas campaign "Joy Everywhere," the Shinsegae Square Media Art "Timeless Moment," "Sunjong's Royal Palanquin Pilgrimage in Jung-gu," and "Suitcase of a Musician."
Shinsegae Department Store is emerging as a leading content creator representing Korea, going beyond the boundaries of a shopping space with its own marketing campaigns and media art. In particular, it has established itself as a tourist attraction by serving as a K-content hub, releasing music videos of K-pop stars and screening collaborative time signals with G-Dragon.
In fact, after the opening of Shinsegae Square in November last year, 200,000 people visited the main store within just ten days, and the number reached 1 million during the year-end season. In the first half of this year, sales to foreign tourists at the main store increased by 31% compared to the same period last year.
A Shinsegae Department Store representative stated, "This award is a recognition of Shinsegae's design and marketing competitiveness not only in products and shopping environment but also in brand communication as Korea's leading department store," adding, "We will continue to solidify our position as a landmark that offers unforgettable urban cultural experiences to both customers and visitors from around the world through Shinsegae's unique and creative content."
