The special prosecutor team led by Min Jungki, which is investigating allegations related to Kim Gunhee, has extended the detention period of Kim Yesung, known as the house manager for Kim Gunhee's family, until September 1.
On the 20th, the special prosecutor's office announced to the media, "The court has decided today to extend Kim Yesung's detention period until September 1." Kim's initial detention period was set to end on the 22nd.
According to the Criminal Procedure Act, a judge may permit a one-time extension of the detention period for up to 10 days if, upon the prosecutor's request, it is deemed that there are valid reasons to continue the investigation.

Earlier, on the 15th, the special prosecutor's team arrested Kim on charges including embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
Kim has been identified as a key figure in the so-called "House Manager Gate," which is a major focus of the special prosecutor's investigation. Kim, who has been named as the house manager for Kim Gunhee's family, is suspected of being involved in the establishment and holding shares in the rental car company IMS Mobility, which allegedly received an improper investment of 18.4 billion won from Kakao Mobility, Shinhan Bank, and others in 2023.
On the 18th, the special prosecutor's team summoned Kim for the first time since his detention to question him about the embezzlement charges and the 18.4 billion won investment suspicion. Kim reportedly stated that the investment and profit acquisition were legitimate.
