Securing Special Grants to Improve Disaster and Safety Infrastructure in Nam-gu
Jinwook Jung Drives Key Projects for Resident Well-being
Jinwook Jung, member of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Jinwook Jung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea representing Gwangju Dongnam-gap, announced on August 20 that he has secured 900 million KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to address local issues and strengthen resident safety infrastructure.
This achievement is the result of Assemblyman Jung's ongoing consultations with relevant ministries, during which he conveyed the voices of local residents. The special grants will be allocated to key projects aimed at resolving long-standing issues in Nam-gu, Gwangju, and preventing disasters.
The specific project budgets are as follows: 500 million KRW for the creation of a walking trail and rest area in Hyocheon 1 District, and 400 million KRW for the maintenance of the sewer system at Mudeung Market. The buffer green space improvement project in Hyocheon 1 District is expected to greatly contribute to creating a pleasant and safe living environment for residents by establishing walking trails and rest areas throughout the Hyocheon District. The maintenance of the aging sewer system at Mudeung Market is also anticipated to enhance safety infrastructure and resident convenience within the market, where repeated flooding has occurred during heavy rainfall.
Assemblyman Jung stated, "The support of local residents made it possible to achieve these special grants. I will continue to take the lead in addressing issues in Nam-gu and expanding disaster and safety infrastructure." He added, "I will listen closely to the voices of residents to ensure that even small inconveniences directly affecting their daily lives are not overlooked, and I will strive to reflect these concerns in policy."
