The ADEX Joint Operations Headquarters announced on the 20th that the ADEX 2025 event will take place over eight days from October 17 to 24 at KINTEX in Goyang and Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. ADEX began in 1996 as the Seoul Air Show and, since 2009, has been integrated to include ground defense, making it the largest professional comprehensive trade exhibition for aerospace and defense in Korea.
The KINTEX venue will focus on business activities. The indoor exhibition space has been expanded by about 58% compared to the previous Seoul ADEX 2023, now reaching approximately 49,000 square meters. This makes it comparable in size to the Farnborough Airshow in the UK (49,000 square meters), following only the Paris Air Show (79,000 square meters) as the world’s largest airshows.
Notably, the Joint Operations Headquarters will establish a new technology pavilion spanning 2,260 square meters to highlight this year’s ADEX goals of raising awareness of the space economy and promoting AAM-related industries. The new technology pavilion will feature exhibits such as a full-scale model of a reusable launch vehicle, advanced satellite communication systems, carbon fiber for space applications, and actual AAM aircraft. The size of the new technology pavilion is the second largest in the world after the space pavilion at the Paris Air Show 2025 (2,500 square meters).
In addition, the KINTEX outdoor exhibition area will showcase a wide array of state-of-the-art defense equipment for export under the K-Defense brand, and about 30 seminars related to aerospace and defense industries will be held concurrently at KINTEX.
At Seoul Airport in Seongnam, a public day for Seoul ADEX will be held from October 17 to 19 for the general public. During this period, the Republic of Korea Air Force’s Black Eagles and civilian aerobatic teams will perform flight demonstrations, along with exhibition flights of advanced aircraft produced in Korea. There will also be hands-on experiences with aircraft and ground equipment, a comprehensive drone competition, military band and honor guard performances, Taekwondo demonstrations, and a variety of other attractions for visitors.
Lee Kanghee, Co-Director of Seoul ADEX 2025, stated, “With Seoul ADEX now recognized as one of the world’s top three airshows, its international standing will be further solidified through this event. We expect that Seoul ADEX will further elevate the status of K-Defense and create a virtuous cycle leading to increased defense exports.”
