SH to Supply 1,614 National Rental Housing Units... Applications Open from September 2

On August 20, Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH) announced that it will provide a total of 1,614 national rental housing units, including 303 remaining vacant units and 1,311 units for preliminary tenants.


This supply targets 303 remaining vacant units and 1,311 preliminary tenant units across 23 districts such as Segok, Gangil, and Magok, as well as 14 complexes including Godeok Onbitchae and Wirye Forest Shine.


The average deposit and monthly rent by area are as follows: for exclusive areas of 39㎡ or less, the deposit is approximately 30 million KRW and the monthly rent is about 250,000 KRW; for exclusive areas of 49㎡ or less, the deposit is about 50 million KRW and the monthly rent is approximately 330,000 KRW; for exclusive areas of 59㎡ or less, the deposit is about 60 million KRW and the monthly rent is around 380,000 KRW.


Eligibility for general supply is limited to members of homeless households residing in Seoul as of the announcement date. Applicants must have a household monthly income of 70% or less of the city worker average, total household assets of 337 million KRW or less, and vehicle ownership valued at 38.03 million KRW or less.


Additionally, for households with children born (including fetuses and adopted children) on or after March 28, 2023, the income and asset requirements are relaxed by an additional 10 to 20 percentage points.


For units smaller than 50㎡, if there is competition, priority is given to households with an average monthly income of 50% or less, with first priority determined by residence in the relevant district or adjacent district. For units of 50㎡ or more, priority is determined by the number of payments made to the Comprehensive Housing Subscription Savings account, with first priority given to those who have made at least 24 payments.


Online applications for priority applicants will be accepted from September 2 to September 5. For applicants who have difficulty using the internet, such as people with disabilities or the elderly, SH will accept in-person applications at the auditorium on the second floor of its headquarters from September 3 to September 5.


For non-priority applicants, only online applications will be accepted on September 17. If the number of priority applicants exceeds 200% of the available units, non-priority applications will not be accepted.


Document screening candidates will be announced on October 13, and successful applicants will be announced on February 19 next year. Move-in will be possible after March next year. The move-in date for preliminary tenants will be notified individually.
