On August 20, MBN announced that singer Nam Jin will be joining the trot audition program "Mumyeongjeonseol - Trot Sannaedeul-ui Seoryeoljeon" (hereafter "Mumyeongjeonseol") as a "legend."
Nam Jin, who decided to appear on the show after resonating with its purpose of giving opportunities to unknown contestants, said, "I, too, once had an unknown period," and added, "I want to help the birth of a new legend." He further stated, "Discovering unknown talent is a responsibility I bear as a senior."
Nam Jin has served as a judge on various trot survival programs, including "Miss Trot," "Mr. Trot," "Burning Trotman," and "Hyeonyeokgawang." He debuted in 1965 with "Seoul Playboy," and this year marks the 60th anniversary of his debut. He has released hit songs such as "Gaseum Apeuge," "Nimgwa Hamkke," and "Sangsahwa." Junior singers including Jeong Dongwon, Jang Minho, Son Taejin, and Enoch have drawn attention by performing Nam Jin's songs on competition stages.
Previously, "Mumyeongjeonseol" confirmed Jang Minho and Kim Daeho as the main MCs. Jang Minho stated, "I want to discover talented unknown singers," while Kim Daeho said, "I want to laugh and cry together with the contestants."
"Mumyeongjeonseol" is open to any man who loves trot, regardless of age, nationality, or experience, and the second round of contestant recruitment is currently underway. The show will premiere on MBN in February 2026.
