Yongin City Completes Integrated Interior Management Design for Dongbaek and Bojeong Welfare Centers

On this day, the city held a design completion briefing session in the afternoon, attended by Mayor Lee Sangil, officials from relevant departments, representatives from Yongin Urban Corporation, the construction company, and the design firm.

The Dongbaek Comprehensive Welfare Center, which will be located at 866 Jung-dong, Giheung-gu, will have a total floor area of 13,027 square meters and will include a swimming pool, a lifelong learning center, a senior welfare center, a youth cultural center, and a daytime care center for people with disabilities. The Bojeong Comprehensive Welfare Center, to be built at 1264-2 Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, will have a total floor area of 15,948 square meters and will consist of a library, a senior welfare center, a municipal daycare center, a daytime care center for people with disabilities, a youth cultural center, and a gymnasium.

The 'Integrated Interior Management' applied to this project is a method that manages the entire process from design to construction in an integrated manner. It was introduced to address issues such as construction delays, design inconsistencies, and quality deterioration that have arisen from separately contracting the interior design and construction of public buildings in the past.

The city explained that through this integrated management, it was able to advance the opening of the two facilities by about two months, from the originally planned June next year to April, and also save approximately 5.9 billion won in the budget. The city expects that this will ensure design consistency across various spaces in the buildings and improve construction quality.

Mayor Lee said, "This integrated interior management provides many valuable insights for the future construction of public buildings," and requested, "Please continue to carry out the remaining work well so that the opening can proceed without any issues."
