Choi Jungwon, an actor and former member of the group UN, has been issued an emergency restraining order on suspicion of stalking.
The Seoul Jungbu Police Station announced on the 19th that Choi has been booked on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes and is currently under investigation.
According to the police, Choi is suspected of recently visiting the home of a female acquaintance while carrying a weapon.
To protect the victim, the police applied to the court for an emergency restraining order, which was approved the previous day. The emergency restraining order prohibits the alleged perpetrator from approaching within 100 meters of the victim's residence and from making contact through telecommunications. Violation of this order may result in a fine of up to 10 million won.
The police are investigating Choi to determine the specific circumstances of the case.
