Music Insight is a newly established competition section for Korean feature film music this year. It aims to highlight the artistic achievements of film scores and shed light on the creative worlds of established film composers. The competition is open to music directors of Korean feature films produced since January of last year. One winner, selected through a judging process, will receive a prize of 20 million won and a trophy.
The Secretariat also announced the eleven nominees for the newly established "New Talent" section, a competition for emerging film composers, on the same day. One winner among them will be selected to receive a prize of 10 million won and a trophy.
Programmer Cho Myungjin stated, "Both competition sections serve as a stage to select works that represent Korean film music of the year," adding, "It will be a process of discovering musical peaks imbued with the weight of creation and the depth of artistic struggle."
